Nova Scotia has set a target of increasing its population to two million people by 2060 and for that, it will have to welcome a high number of immigrants and support immigration retention.
It has been suggested by a survey in 2020 that the main deciding factor on whether or not immigrants stay there depends upon the job opportunities provided by the government. 74% of the immigrants who arrived between 2011 to 2018 stayed there.
