Since the start of 2021, British Columbia has issued 10,000 invitations to apply for provincial nomination.
B.C. has invited 85 tech workers through BC PNP tech under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program on October 19.
British Columbia uses BC PNP, an economic immigration system to attract experienced, and high-demand foreign workers.
Candidates who are invited through the tech draw must fulfill all the eligibility requirements of one of the B.C.’s Express Entry BC and Skills Immigration categories.
BC PNP provides a pathway to permanent residence to the people who choose to live and work in British Columbia.
With a minimum provincial score of 75, candidates from the subcategories of Skilled Worker and International Graduate received the invitation in this draw. Invited candidates have 30 calendar days to apply for the nomination.
About BC PNP Tech Program
The BC PNP Tech Pilot has been renamed BC PNP Tech to provide B.C. tech employers with the continued ability to recruit and retain international talent. This program is specifically an immigration pathway for international students and tech workers.
The candidate should have a valid job offer of at least 12 months in one of the 29 tech occupations and he needs to be registered in one of B.C.’s existing provincial immigration streams to qualify.
The BC PNP Tech should be for a minimum year with at least 120 days remaining at the time of application to the BC PNP. The job must be full-time and from an eligible employer from the province.
The top-scoring candidates who qualify for the eligibility requirements are sent invitations through the province’s tech program.
Since the BC Tech Program has been launched, it has supported over 6000 tech workers to be nominated for PR. It ensures that the technology sector retains the talent it needs to grow further.
Candidates invited to apply for a provincial nominee have to submit a complete application which will be processed within two to three months. If the application gets approved, the candidate will receive a nomination confirmation that will be used to apply for permanent residence from IRCC under the PNP class. PNP candidates automatically earn 600 points in their score for CRS, Comprehensive Ranking System so they have good chances of getting an Invitation To Apply (ITA) for PR via Express Entry.
