Why PNP draws:

Since the start of the year,
IRCC has been inviting CEC, Canadian Experience Class well as PNP, Provincial Nominee Program candidates. To fulfill its labor market demands, IRCC is focusing on inviting PNP candidates from outside Canada. In the previous draw, it has invited 888 with a minimum score of 744.

Because of the pandemic, the Canadian government had restricted the entries on the borders due to which,
even the candidates who had been approved for PR could not migrate to Canada.

Most of the time, IRCC held Express Entry draws inviting PNP & CEC candidates. But during the pandemic, it hold draws for all the programs which included FSWP, Foreign Skilled Worker Program candidates as well as FSTP, Foreign Skilled Trades Program candidates, although FSTP candidates got their draw in August 2020, since their scores tend to be lower than other programs.

From the beginning of the year, it held draws for PNP candidates only because the CEC candidates are most likely to be in Canada. PNP candidates have to demonstrate to the province that they will provide economic benefit to the province.

In the last five draws, IRCC invited PNP candidates in a row. It has aimed to take in 105,800 immigrants through Express Entry in 2021 and 110,500 in 2022.

About Express Entry Process:

It is an application management system that manages applications for the economic immigration programs of CanadaCanadia Experience ClassFederal Skilled Worker Program, & the Federal Skilled Trades Program are the three programs that use Express Entry. PNP candidates in the Express Entry have already qualified for one of these programs.

Express Entry uses CRS, Comprehensive Ranking System which is a points-based system used to rank the profiles of the candidates. The top-scoring candidates receive an ITA and then they can apply for PR through regular Express Entry draws.

PNP candidates automatically earn 600 points in their score for CRS, Comprehensive Ranking System so they have good chances of getting an Invitation To Apply (ITA) for PR via Express Entry.
