On February 1, Quebec invited 322 new candidates in the second Arrima draw of the year.
It targeted the candidates with a valid job offer outside the Montreal Metropolitan area and the one who resides in Quebec as a diplomat, consular official, United Nations representative, or representative of any intergovernmental organization operating in the province. It is the second smallest draw held by the province this year. A total of 834 candidates have been invited to apply for permanent selection through the Arrima draw this year. Invited candidates needed to have profiles in the Arrima pool with scores of at least 647 points.
The candidates who have received the Invitation To Apply by MIFI, Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration needs to file an EI, Expession of Interest in Arrima pool.
Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program
Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program is a permanent immigration program for skilled workers in Quebec.
The candidates who wish to immigrate through this program must first declare their interest in immigrating to Quebec by filing an Expression Of Interest (EI) form through an online portal. The MIFI regularly selects people from the pool of candidates and invites them to apply for permanent selection.
Invited candidates have a maximum of 60 days to submit their applications and pay processing fees.
After that, the successful applications will get a CSQ, Certificat de sélection du Québec, or Quebec Selection Certificate. They can then use this document to apply for permanent residence to the Canadian Federal Government.
QSWP Eligibility
The candidate must obtain sufficient points based on the Quebec Immigration selection grid.
The grid is composed of nine factors:
- education;
- work experience;
- age;
- knowledge of French and English;
- stay and family in Quebec;
- validated job offer;
- spouse’s characteristics;
- presence of children;

The province has also released its immigration admission targets for the year 2022. It will invite candidates through its economic immigration programs such as Quebec Skilled Worker Program, QSWP, and the Québec experience program, PEQ.
More than 70,000 foreign nationals will be admitted to the province this year. It will target around 49,500 to 52,500 immigrants across all the categories and an additional 18000 to meet the unfulfilled targets of 2020.
